THE BIO

Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she received her secondary education. With a deep-rooted passion for family law, Ashley's present legal practice revolves around various aspects of family matters. She concentrates a large portion of her practice in divorce cases, alimony disputes divorce property distribution, child custody battles, child support arrangements, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, post-divorce enforcement issues as well as step-parent and private party adoptions and child welfare concerns. Ashley has served as a mediator appointed by a court since the year and assists parties in helping them resolve their matters without needing court involvement. Ashley mediates private matters as well as court-appointed mediation for individuals who wish to avoid court proceedings and litigation.

After finishing her undergraduate education at Loyola University of Maryland, where she received dual Bachelor's degrees in History and Political Science, Ashley pursued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was ranked among the top 10 students in her class. While in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review which showcased her dedication to legal research and scholarship.

Ashley began her clerkship after completing her law degree. She worked for notable jurists from Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to serve as a law assistant to the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned to Hagerstown, Maryland, to serve as an attorney for the Honorable M. Ashley joined Poole & Kane P.A. in 2015 as an associate attorney. as an associate attorney. Her main responsibilities at the firm involved representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases concerning child welfare. Ashley's tireless efforts were instrumental in helping children who were victims of abuse or negligence at the of their caregivers or parents. Her dedication to fighting social injustice was not limited to her legal career as she was a member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to increase awareness about human trafficking in the tri-state region.

In 2017, she became a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law such as divorce child support, custody and guardianships - as well as estate planning - wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy and mediation.

Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC in 2023. Ashley founded Wilburn Law Office, LLC with the intention of providing an individual approach to each client's requirements.
